Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as an expert Field Recorder and be at the forefront of authentic sound acquisition. In this dynamic remote role, you will capture, curate, and document audio across diverse environments, supporting critical data and creative projects with unmatched attention to detail. Ideal candidates possess a passion for immersive soundscapes and thrive in multifaceted, location-based recording scenarios.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Capture high-fidelity audio samples in varied environments, from urban settings to natural landscapes.
  2. Document and categorize ambient noises with precise metadata for project integration.
  3. Apply advanced mobile recording techniques using professional-grade equipment.
  4. Adapt to new locations and conditions, ensuring consistent audio quality and clarity.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams by providing concise written and verbal reports.
  6. Manage and maintain organized audio libraries for seamless retrieval and analysis.
  7. Ensure adherence to best practices in safety, privacy, and environmental protocols while on location.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Expertise in multi-environment audio capture and mobile recording technology.
  2. Demonstrated capability in ambient noise documentation and sound categorization.
  3. Proficiency with a range of field recording equipment and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
  4. Strong commitment to accuracy and quality in audio acquisition and data annotation.
  5. Adaptability to diverse locations and variable acoustic scenarios.
  6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for documentation and team coordination.
  7. Proactive problem-solving skills and attention to logistical detail.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience with large-scale audio collection projects or acoustic research.
  2. Background in audio engineering, sound design, or environmental acoustics.
  3. Familiarity with privacy and legal considerations in field recording.
