Join our customer's team as a Latvian Language Expert and play a pivotal role in shaping accurate, insightful language analysis for a variety of projects. You will leverage your bilingual proficiency in Latvian and English to transcribe, analyze, and interpret complex audio and video content. This remote position offers flexibility while engaging you in intellectually stimulating work that impacts global communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe and annotate videos in Latvian, ensuring precise timestamps and content accuracy.
- Identify and describe the emotionality and intent of speakers, providing nuanced analysis of tone and delivery.
- Evaluate and interpret advanced grammar, vocabulary, and conceptual language aspects in context.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining linguistic and emotional insights for delivered content.
- Collaborate with team members to refine project standards and linguistic guidelines.
- Conduct language tasks at a complex level, applying deep knowledge of Latvian linguistics.
- Ensure prompt, clear, and professional communication in both written and verbal interactions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Native or near-native proficiency in both Latvian and English, with the ability to seamlessly switch between the two languages.
- Demonstrated expertise in transcription, annotation, and linguistic analysis.
- Strong grasp of advanced grammar, semantics, and tone identification.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; clear and detail-oriented reporting.
- Prior experience with language-related tasks, preferably in a digital or remote setting.
- Ability to outline and explain conceptual meanings and language structures accurately.
- Willingness to commit a minimum of 15 hours per week to language projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in linguistics, philology, or related field.
- Experience working with audio/video content or in localization/translation projects.
- Familiarity with language annotation tools or transcription software.
