Role Overview:
We’re seeking a Mid-Level Frontend Developer to join our product engineering team. In this role, you’ll work closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to build high-quality, performant, and responsive features for our readers. You'll be instrumental in shaping the customer experience, optimizing UI components, and ensuring our platform scales gracefully.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain reusable, modular React components using TypeScript and modern frontend architecture.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with designers and backend engineers to implement pixel-perfect UI and smooth data integrations via REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Optimize pages for performance, accessibility, SEO, and responsive behavior across devices.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to frontend architecture discussions, and help improve development workflows and tooling.
- Support A/B testing initiatives and work closely with the growth and analytics teams to iterate on features based on data insights.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in frontend development, with at least 2 years using React in a production environment.
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3 (including preprocessors like SCSS or tools like Tailwind), and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with state management tools (e.g., Redux, Zustand, React Context API).
- Familiarity with performance optimization techniques, lazy loading, and accessibility (WCAG standards).
- Experience integrating with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Comfortable using Git and modern development workflows (CI/CD, code reviews, etc.).
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with analytics and experimentation tools (Google Analytics, Segment, Optimizely, etc.).
- Exposure to server-side rendering (Next.js) or static site generation.
- Understanding of conversion optimization and UX best practices in online retail.
