Job Description

Role title: Generalists (Data Recording)

Job Type: Part-Time

Location: Remote

Job Summary

Join our team as a tech-savvy Generalist to help build cutting-edge datasets. You’ll record everyday home tasks using Meta Ray-Ban / Meta Glasses following simple capture protocols. If you’re detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable working independently, we’d love to hear from you.

Don’t own the hardware? No problem - if you’re a good fit, we’ll provide the Meta glasses after screening.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture short, high-quality videos of common household tasks (laundry, dishes, tidying, basic food prep) using Meta Glasses.
  • Keep hands/arms/body clearly visible, with stable framing and good lighting in a clean, controlled environment.
  • Follow strict privacy rules: record solo, avoid faces, and exclude any personal/identifying items.
  • Accurately name, organize, and upload MP4 files; complete simple metadata (activity, duration, location type, notes).
  • Do basic troubleshooting: Wi-Fi pairing, storage checks, firmware/app updates.
  • Review your work and follow SOPs/checklists; incorporate feedback quickly.
  • Communicate proactively with the team via async updates and occasional remote meetings.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ownership of Meta Ray-Ban / Meta Glasses is great; if not, we can provide hardware after initial vetting.
  • Recent smartphone (iPhone 13+, Pixel 6+, Galaxy S21+ or similar) for smooth transfers.
  • Reliable home internet; comfortable with Google Drive/Dropbox and ZIP archiving.
  • Basics of video capture: framing, lighting, steady POV, simple re-takes.
  • High attention to detail for file naming, metadata entry, and privacy compliance.
  • Clear written communication; timely responses; ability to follow detailed protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data capture/content creation, metadata schemas, or QC checklists.
  • Familiarity (or willingness to learn) IMU, intrinsics/extrinsics, and basic calibration.
  • Consistency in repetitive tasks and strong checklist discipline.

Nice-to-Have Device Skills (keywords)

  • Meta View app pairing, firmware updates, storage management
  • File transfers, zipping, cloud uploads; basic logs/screenshots for troubleshooting
