Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on and interpret complex privacy regulations, including GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, and other global frameworks.
  • Conduct privacy risk assessments, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and build governance frameworks fit for AI-driven operations.
  • Draft, review, and update privacy policies, data processing agreements (DPAs), standard contractual clauses (SCCs), and associated contract language.
  • Ensure compliance of cross-border data transfers and maintain robust records of processing activities (RoPAs) and compliance controls.
  • Provide clear, actionable guidance to business, technology, and security teams, translating complex regulations into practical advice.
  • Design and deliver engaging training sessions to upskill staff on privacy requirements and best practices in AI contexts.
  • Facilitate effective written and verbal communication with stakeholders, influencing leadership and supporting privacy-by-design initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ professional experience as a Data Privacy & GDPR Counsel or related legal privacy role.
  • Expert knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy, cross-border data transfer mechanisms, DPIAs, DPO obligations, and emerging global privacy laws such as CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, and PIPEDA.
  • Proven ability to conduct privacy risk assessments, develop governance frameworks, and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Strong policy drafting skills and experience reviewing DPAs, SCCs, consent mechanisms, and privacy provisions in commercial contracts.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience in advising diverse business teams, delivering privacy training, and collaborating with IT/security stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive professional who thrives in a remote team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting AI or technology-driven business models with privacy compliance programs.
  • Background in designing and implementing privacy-by-design processes within innovative projects.
