Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IT Database Administrator to join our team and take ownership of our mission-critical Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database environments. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring database performance, security, and availability, supporting business continuity through advanced backup, automation, and disaster recovery strategies. Key Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MSSQL and Oracle database servers to ensure optimal reliability and performance.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance, including tuning queries, indexes, and storage for maximum efficiency.
• Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as AlwaysOn, Data Guard, and Oracle RAC to support business continuity.
• Enforce security measures, manage access controls, encryption, and conduct regular vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance.
• Design and execute robust backup strategies, and routinely test disaster recovery plans to guarantee data integrity and recoverability.
• Automate routine database tasks and monitoring, leveraging scripting and industry-standard tools.
• Provide expert-level L2 & L3 support, collaborating with application and infrastructure teams, and deliver thorough documentation and knowledge transfer.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in MSSQL and Oracle database administration.
• Proven expertise with SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) and Oracle (12c, 19c).
• Advanced knowledge of HA/DR solutions: AlwaysOn, Data Guard, Oracle RAC, Log Shipping.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PL/SQL scripting, with demonstrated skills in database performance tuning.
• Experience working in fast-paced enterprise environments, with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Outstanding written communication and documentation skills, thriving in asynchronous team cultures.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant certifications such as MCSA/MCSE (SQL Server) or Oracle OCP.
• Experience with cloud-based database platforms (Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS).
• Familiarity with leading database monitoring tools (OEM, SQL Server Profiler, RedGate, SolarWinds).
