Join our customer’s team as an English Translator and play a critical role in bridging linguistic gaps through expert-level transcription and language analysis. This fully remote position calls for passionate individuals with native-level English proficiency to deliver nuanced, high-quality translations while capturing the emotionality and intent behind every word.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe video content with precision, ensuring accurate timestamps and context are clearly documented.
- Analyze and describe the emotion, tone, and intent demonstrated by speakers, offering detailed insights into communicative subtleties.
- Evaluate and explain grammatical structures, language use, and stylistic choices within the source material.
- Define words, phrases, and conceptual aspects to ensure clarity and deeper understanding for diverse audiences.
- Perform complex language tasks, including content adaptation and semantic analysis, at an advanced level.
- Collaborate with team members to establish and maintain high-quality linguistic standards.
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining thorough attention to detail and linguistic accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Native-level English proficiency with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- At least 15 hours per week commitment; proven ability to manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Strong background in translation, linguistics, or related language fields.
- Experience transcribing and annotating multimedia content, including video and audio materials.
- Deep understanding of grammar, syntax, and language tones at a conceptual and practical level.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to discern emotion and intent in spoken and written communication.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Linguistics, Translation, English, or related disciplines.
- Experience working on large-scale or technically complex language projects.
- Familiarity with translation, transcription, or annotation software tools.
