Job Summary:
Join our team of Marine Mechanics and play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of marine vessels in the picturesque British Virgin Islands. This on-site, hands-on position is ideal for a skilled professional passionate about marine engine systems, troubleshooting, and repair, who thrives in a collaborative environment and values strong communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair outboard and inboard marine engines, generators, and related electrical/mechanical systems.
- Conduct regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on a variety of vessels.
- Perform welding and fabrication of marine parts, ensuring durability and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate technical findings clearly both verbally and in writing to clients and team members.
- Work collaboratively with other marine professionals to coordinate vessel readiness and repair priorities.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulations in the workplace.
- Advise on parts procurement and assist with inventory management as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Graduate of a vocational school or higher in a relevant field.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience servicing and repairing outboard/inboard marine engines and generators.
- Demonstrated proficiency in welding and fabrication of marine parts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear technical explanation and teamwork.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in marine environments.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
