Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe videos in Sinhala and English, accurately capturing dialogue and time-stamping key moments.
- Analyze speakers’ tone, expressiveness, and emotionality to provide nuanced descriptions.
- Break down grammatical structures and provide detailed explanations of language usage.
- Define and contextualize complex words and phrases within transcripts.
- Undertake advanced bilingual language tasks, ensuring high standards of quality and precision.
- Collaborate with the customer’s team to deliver linguistic insights that support project objectives.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and contribute to process improvements in content evaluation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Native or near-native fluency in both Sinhala and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in transcription, including the ability to accurately outline timestamps.
- Strong analytical abilities to assess grammar, tone, and emotional content.
- Deep cultural understanding of Sinhala- and English-speaking communities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills suitable for complex language projects.
- Commitment to a minimum of 15 hours per week, with the flexibility to accommodate project needs.
- Proficiency with digital collaboration tools and a remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in linguistic research, language teaching, or advanced translation projects.
- Background in media transcription or discourse analysis.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to improve team-wide linguistic output.
