Job Summary

Join our customer's team as a Cinematographer / Director of Photography - AI Trainer and play a vital role in shaping the visual intelligence of next-generation AI. You will leverage your expertise in lighting, shot composition, and cinematic storytelling to review and interpret short video clips, ensuring AI systems learn to understand scenes as a seasoned filmmaker would. This is a unique opportunity to bridge creativity and technology from anywhere in the world.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Analyze and interpret short video clips, detailing shot types, angles, and camera movements.
  2. Evaluate lighting, framing, and visual storytelling elements to determine cinematic intent.
  3. Validate, enhance, or correct AI-generated scene and shot descriptions for accuracy and clarity.
  4. Provide rich context on scene mood, character emotion, and narrative cues.
  5. Deliver concise, constructive feedback to improve AI visual understanding.
  6. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to refine annotation guidelines and visual datasets.
  7. Document and communicate findings clearly in both written and verbal formats.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Professional or academic background in cinematography, film production, or equivalent field.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in lighting, shot composition, and storytelling through camera language.
  3. Strong analytical skills for scene breakdown and cinematic interpretation.
  4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and precision.
  5. Ability to provide actionable, constructive feedback and work collaboratively.
  6. English proficiency at Native/C2 level.
  7. Ability to commit at least 30 hours per week for ~2-4 weeks.


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Portfolio of work or film credits showcasing visual storytelling skills.
  2. Experience working with AI, machine learning, or creative technology teams.
  3. Background in content review or educational roles in film studies.
