Job Summary:
Join our dedicated team of Operating Room/Perioperative Nurses, who play a pivotal role in delivering compassionate, safe, and efficient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. They collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for surgery through comprehensive preoperative assessment, patient education, and thorough consent verification.
- Assist during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field, monitoring patient status, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
- Administer prescribed medications, provide anesthesia support, and deliver attentive post-operative care.
- Monitor patients in recovery, including vigilant tracking of vital signs, wound management, and effective pain control.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to promote a seamless and safe perioperative workflow.
- Accurately document all aspects of surgical procedures, patient status, and post-operative instructions.
- Ensure compliance with infection control measures, safety protocols, and all relevant federal and state regulations.
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care plans and recovery expectations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Active NCLEX-RN and PHRN license
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, ideally in perioperative or surgical settings.
- In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and patient safety protocols.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—a strong focus for our team.
- Demonstrated critical thinking abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certification in perioperative nursing
- Experience with patient and family education in post-operative settings.
