About micro1
micro1 is a data engine that helps AI labs train foundational models and enterprises build AI agents. We provide frontier evaluations and reinforcement learning environments used to improve LLM capabilities, as well as contextual evaluations used to monitor and improve AI agents in enterprise settings. Our data engine includes an AI recruiter agent that sources and vets domain experts, a data platform that enables rapid production of high-quality training data, and a pipeline performance system that ensures both quality and velocity.
Our goal is to have 1 billion people doing meaningful work by contributing their expertise to the development of frontier AI models. We’ve raised $40M+ in funding, and our AI recruiter has powered more than 1 million AI-led interviews as our global network of experts expands to form the human intelligence layer for AGI.

Your Role:

As a Strategic Projects Lead (SPL), you will be the main POC for our top AI Lab customers and manage a team of highly skilled Electrical/Electronics Engineering experts to train frontier AI models—with a strong focus on domains such as PCB design, power electronics, embedded systems, and industrial electronics. You will ensure the highest standards in technical accuracy, data integrity, scalability, and quality, overseeing the design and execution of workflows that structure, optimize, and manage large-scale engineering data pipelines. This role requires a strong combination of hands-on Electrical/Electronics expertise, an analytical mindset, and the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives while being client-facing and driving project success.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Own projects end to end, ensuring top AI Lab clients are extremely happy.
  2. Own and manage complex, domain-specific data pipelines, improving efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, particularly across Electrical/Electronics workflows.
  3. Manage teams of Human Data Managers and Leads reviewing the work of subject-matter experts across PCB design, power electronics, embedded systems, and related domains.
  4. Communicate directly with top AI Labs on massive, high-impact projects, acting as a trusted technical and strategic partner.
  5. Work with Human Data Engineers to define, track, and optimize KPIs across expert-driven workflows.
  6. Provide executive-level insights and updates on key projects, data performance, and operational impact.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Exceptional soft skills and stakeholder management ability, especially when working with senior technical experts and clients.
  2. Willingness to grind long hours, including weekends if required, in a fast-moving startup environment.
  3. Strong hands-on background in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, with experience in PCB design, schematic capture, PCB layout, simulation, component selection, and board validation/testing—especially in areas like converters, battery systems, embedded or industrial electronics.
  4. Experience with tools such as KiCad, SpiceBridge, PCBParts, or similar PCB design and simulation tools.
  5. 2+ years in a leadership or project ownership role, managing technical teams, driving operational processes, or optimizing complex workflows.
  6. Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a client-facing environment.
