Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after hemodialysis sessions, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the treatment process.
- Initiate, manage, and discontinue hemodialysis procedures in accordance with clinical protocols and patient-specific needs.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor for adverse reactions, and intervene as necessary to promote patient stability.
- Track and report patients’ vital signs, lab results, and overall response to treatments to support effective care management.
- Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, lifestyle considerations, and post-treatment recommendations.
- Collaborate with nephrologists, dialysis technicians, and our healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of treatments, patient responses, and outcomes using electronic health records.
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and state and federal regulations to ensure a safe environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Active NCLEX-RN and PHRN license
- PHRN certification required.
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, with a focus in dialysis preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of renal diseases, hemodialysis technology, and patient safety protocols.
- Exceptional clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities in dynamic clinical settings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a patient-centered, empathetic approach.
- Skilled in interdisciplinary collaboration and electronic documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Prior experience educating patients on renal health and lifestyle management.
- Advanced certifications related to nephrology nursing.
