Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as a Cost Estimator and bring your expertise in forecasting project costs and budgeting to help shape the next generation of AI-driven tools. In this unique role, you will simulate and provide real-world project costing scenarios, enabling AI systems to replicate the critical thinking and precision of seasoned professionals in construction, manufacturing, and engineering.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop detailed cost estimates for various projects, including materials, labor, and operational expenses.
  2. Analyze and assess project risks and incorporate findings into cost projections and contingency planning.
  3. Conduct price research and compile data to support accurate and up-to-date cost information.
  4. Participate in the simulation of real-world budgeting and project planning scenarios to train AI systems.
  5. Document estimation processes, assumptions, and methodologies for reproducibility and clarity.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive understanding of project requirements and cost drivers.
  7. Provide domain expertise that helps AI interpret cost projections, pricing strategies, and financial planning discussions.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in cost estimation, cost analysis, and budgeting for projects in construction, manufacturing, or engineering.
  2. Strong data analysis abilities, with proficiency in spreadsheet modeling and financial planning tools.
  3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail and clarity in documentation.
  4. Advanced organizational and time management skills to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
  5. Demonstrated expertise in project planning, price research, and risk assessment.
  6. Comfortable working independently in a remote environment and contributing to collaborative teams.
  7. Ability to translate complex estimation methodologies into accessible information for both technical and non-technical audiences.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience supporting or training AI/ML systems in a data-driven or technical context.
  2. Background in multiple project domains, such as both construction and manufacturing.
  3. Experience with advanced cost estimation or project management software.
