Job Summary:
Join our customer's team as a Geological Technician Expert - AI Trainer and play a pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge AI models within the geosciences sector. Harness your expertise to help shape intelligent systems, drawing on your hands-on field and laboratory experience, while collaborating remotely with a passionate, innovative group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with scientists and engineers to guide the development of AI solutions for geological data analysis and interpretation.
- Utilize and instruct on the use of electronic, sonic, and nuclear measuring instruments across laboratory, exploration, and production environments to obtain resource data (metallic ore, minerals, gas, coal, petroleum).
- Review, annotate, and provide expert feedback on datasets, sample analyses, and operational records to train AI systems with industry-relevant accuracy.
- Prepare comprehensive notes, sketches, geological maps, and cross-sections to support data modeling and machine learning initiatives.
- Analyze mud and drill cuttings, as well as chart pressure, temperature, and other well or borehole characteristics, to inform intelligent automation.
- Compile, log, and organize testing or operational data for further review, analysis, and AI training purposes.
- Actively participate in virtual surveys and exploratory project meetings, sharing insights and best practices with both technical and non-technical teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Geological Technician or related role (Core Inspector, Geotechnician, Geological E-Logger, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge in handling laboratory apparatus, electronic measuring equipment, and geological testing protocols.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong commitment to clarity and teamwork in a remote setting.
- Track record of compiling, logging, and interpreting geological data with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience preparing sketches, geological maps, and technical cross-sections.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with geological, geophysical, geochemical, or oceanographic surveys and exploratory drilling programs.
- Passion for advancing AI technology through precise data labeling, annotation, and knowledge sharing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience training AI or machine learning models in a technical or scientific environment.
- Background in environmental sampling or materials testing.
- Familiarity with digital tools and platforms used for remote collaboration and dataset management.
