Job Summary:
Join our customer’s team as a Keyboard Shortcut Specialist and play a pivotal role in boosting productivity and user experience across leading web platforms. You’ll leverage your expertise to document, analyze, and optimize keyboard shortcuts, supporting software engineers, QA professionals, and end-users operating in diverse digital environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, catalog, and evaluate keyboard shortcuts across major websites and web applications, including Google Docs, Sheets, Amazon, Facebook, eBay, Etsy, Upwork, and Linear (web).
- Test, validate, and document shortcut functionalities for accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop comprehensive guides and resources for both technical and non-technical users, ensuring accessibility and clarity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve shortcut usability and training materials.
- Act as the go-to expert for shortcut-related inquiries and troubleshooting within the customer’s team.
- Stay updated on emerging shortcut features and best practices across web platforms.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes by leveraging shortcut expertise to identify workflow optimizations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise with keyboard shortcuts on a variety of web platforms (docs, sheets, ecommerce, social, productivity tools).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and knowledge sharing.
- Experience working with software engineering or quality assurance teams, or as a power user of web applications.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects remotely.
- Ability to translate complex shortcut workflows into user-friendly documentation.
- Passion for workflow optimization and commitment to continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a SWE, QA, or power user specializing in keyboard shortcut efficiency.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
- Experience training teammates or creating learning resources for diverse audiences.
