Job Summary

Join our customer's team as a Health and Safety Engineer and make a direct impact by leveraging your expertise to help train artificial intelligence systems. This unique remote opportunity focuses on sharing your industry insights—except mining safety—to refine models that support health and safety practices across various sectors.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Act as a subject matter expert on occupational health and safety engineering for advanced AI training initiatives.
  2. Review and annotate real-world scenarios, procedures, and documentation to improve AI understanding of safety protocols.
  3. Provide expert feedback on model outputs, ensuring alignment with professional safety standards and compliance practices.
  4. Collaborate with AI development teams to identify gaps in safety knowledge and suggest actionable improvements.
  5. Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in both written and verbal communication to articulate complex safety concepts clearly.
  6. Contribute to the creation of robust training materials that reflect industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  7. Stay current on emerging trends and technologies in health and safety engineering to inform AI learning objectives.



Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  2. Extensive knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations (excluding mining safety).
  3. Proven experience applying safety engineering principles in diverse industrial or commercial settings.
  4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to explain technical information to varied audiences.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
  7. Familiarity with digital collaboration tools and willingness to engage with AI technology.



Preferred Qualifications

  1. Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or equivalent.
  2. Past experience in AI, data annotation, or technology-driven training projects.
  3. Graduate degree in a relevant engineering or safety discipline.
