We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Housing Disrepair (HDR) Solicitor to join our team in Blackburn. Key Responsibilities
• Manage and inspire our team of HDR fee earners and support staff to deliver outstanding legal service
• Oversee a complex caseload of both litigated and pre-litigated housing disrepair claims
• Ensure stringent compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory standards, as well as internal procedures
• Develop and implement departmental strategies to promote operational excellence and growth
• Provide expert technical guidance, mentorship, and training to team members
• Communicate effectively with clients, counsel, and external stakeholders, upholding high standards of written and verbal communication
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure exceptional client care across all interactions
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Qualified Solicitor with at least 5 years’ PQE (Post-Qualified Experience) preferred
• Demonstrable expertise in housing disrepair law and litigation
• Proven leadership and managerial experience within a legal setting
• Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a genuine passion for client interaction
• Strategic, proactive approach to problem-solving and departmental development
• Comfortable and effective in a hybrid working model
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience overseeing department growth and implementing new processes
• Track record of mentoring or coaching junior legal professionals
• Exposure to high-volume HDR caseloads in a fast-paced environment
