Job Summary

Join our customer's team as an Ardour Expert and help shape the future of intelligent audio production. We are seeking a seasoned professional with hands-on mastery of Ardour, capable of managing end-to-end audio projects from live multitrack recording to polished master export. Your expertise will drive innovative workflows and teach AI to understand real-world audio engineering decisions.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead full-cycle audio production projects within Ardour, from session setup to final mix and master.
  2. Demonstrate and document live multitrack recording workflows—capturing bands, orchestras, church services, concerts, or other live events.
  3. Showcase advanced session management: mic placement, routing, latency troubleshooting, gain staging, and live session adaptation.
  4. Edit and comp takes, apply plugins, configure buses, automate mixes, and creatively solve session-specific challenges.
  5. Explain and model both technical and artistic decision-making in Ardour for educational and AI-training purposes.
  6. Collaborate closely with the team to ensure detailed capture of your workflow and reasoning.
  7. Contribute to process documentation and feedback to continually improve our AI learning systems.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Extensive, professional experience using Ardour for audio production, with a proven portfolio of end-to-end projects.
  2. Expertise in multitrack live recording scenarios, including venue capture and real-time problem-solving.
  3. Strong background in sound design, mixing, mastering, and sound editing using Ardour.
  4. Ability to clearly articulate workflow processes and technical reasoning, both verbally and in writing.
  5. Familiarity with session routing, plugin chains, effects application, automation, and mastering export within Ardour.
  6. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in high-pressure environments.
  7. Professional communication skills, with a focus on clarity and collaboration.


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience developing software or tools for audio production environments.
  2. Background in music production, post-production, podcasting, film scoring, or sound design using Ardour.
  3. Previous experience teaching, mentoring, or documenting technical audio workflows.
