Job Summary

We’re hiring our VP of Research to lead three cutting-edge labs — RL Environments, RL in Robotics, and Human Data Research — driving both internal R&D and collaborations with top AI labs.

What You'll Do

1. Define and execute the company’s long-term research vision.
2. Build and lead world-class research teams across multiple domains.
3. Partner with leading AI labs, universities, and industry collaborators.
4. Translate research breakthroughs into product and business impact.
5. Represent the company in top research and industry forums.

What We're Looking For

1. Proven leadership experience building and scaling research organizations.
2. Strong presence in the AI research community (publications, collaborations, thought leadership).
3. Ability to balance scientific exploration with business strategy.
4. Exceptional communication and executive presence.
5. PhD in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

1. Expertise in RL environments, RLHF or Robotics (real-world data).

Compensation & Benefits Notice

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $250,000–$300,000 USD. micro1 seeks to engage exceptional talent regardless of location and offers generous compensation packages to all employees.
