Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as a Japanese Language Expert and play a key role in advancing AI-driven language technology. You will be instrumental in training, evaluating, and enhancing the quality of AI language models through expert data annotation and linguistic review of bilingual English and Japanese content. This remote, contract-based position offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to shape next-generation language experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Annotate data and evaluate text materials in both English and Japanese, focusing on grammatical accuracy, semantic clarity, and cultural relevance.
• Review, edit, and validate AI-generated content to ensure natural language usage, alignment with linguistic standards, and contextual appropriateness.
• Collaborate with team members to establish and refine annotation and quality guidelines based on project goals.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback on language model outputs, highlighting ambiguities and proposing improvements.
• Maintain high annotation throughput while meeting stringent quality benchmarks and deadlines.
• Document linguistic findings and contribute to the continuous improvement of language processes and tools.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms with internal stakeholders to ensure project alignment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese with excellent command of English.
• Proven experience in linguistic data annotation, content editing, or similar language-focused roles.
• Strong knowledge of Japanese and English grammar, semantics, and regional/cultural nuances.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for maintaining language accuracy.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a particular emphasis on clarity and precision.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage remote, independent work while adhering to project deadlines.
• Interest in AI language technology and its applications to real-world content.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Educational background in Linguistics, Japanese Language Studies, Translation, or related fields.
• Previous involvement in AI, NLP, or machine learning language projects.
• Experience working in a multicultural, distributed team environment.
