Job Description

Job Title: Waray Language Expert


Job Type: Contractor


Location: Remote


Job Summary: In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Translate, transcribe, and annotate content accurately in Waray, maintaining context and cultural relevance.
  2. Review, edit, and enhance translated materials for clarity, consistency, and linguistic accuracy.
  3. Collaborate with AI engineers and linguists to optimize language data for AI training purposes.
  4. Provide expert insight on Waray language nuances, idiomatic expressions, and regional dialects.
  5. Evaluate and improve the performance of language models by providing feedback and linguistic analysis.
  6. Ensure adherence to project guidelines and quality standards set by the customer's team.
  7. Document linguistic findings and contribute to resource materials for AI development.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Native or near-native proficiency in Waray, with a strong command of written and verbal communication.
  2. Professional experience in translation, linguistic analysis, or language teaching.
  3. Exceptional editing and proofreading skills, with attention to detail.
  4. Ability to identify and interpret linguistic subtleties and regional variations.
  5. Proficiency with digital collaboration tools and remote work environments.
  6. Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  7. Passion for language technology and AI innovation.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience as an AI trainer or working on AI language projects.
  2. Linguistics degree or formal training in language studies.
  3. Familiarity with other Philippine languages or multilingual skills.
