Job Summary

Join our customer's team as an Audio Production Expert and showcase your professional mixing and editing expertise using Ardour or LMMS. In this role, you will undertake authentic audio production sessions, layering, adjusting, and refining tracks in real time to capture your unique creative process. We are passionate about documenting genuine workflows—showcasing both experimentation and professional decision-making from start to finish.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Create, edit, and mix multi-track audio projects using Ardour or LMMS as your primary DAW.
  2. Document your natural workflow by completing realistic audio production sessions, from initial idea to polished mix.
  3. Demonstrate your creative process, including experimentation, trial-and-error, and real-time corrections.
  4. Layer and refine sound elements, applying professional techniques for dynamic and engaging results.
  5. Communicate key decisions and rationale clearly through both written summaries and verbal discussion.
  6. Collaborate remotely with the customer's team to meet project goals and share feedback on ongoing sessions.
  7. Ensure final production meets industry standards for audio quality and artistic integrity.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. Proven expertise with Ardour and/or LMMS in a professional or semi-professional setting.
  2. Strong foundation in audio editing, mixing, and music production workflows.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate creative decisions.
  4. Demonstrated experience building tracks or mixes from scratch, including layering and refining sound.
  5. Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality audio assets.
  6. Comfortable working independently in a remote team environment.
  7. Adaptability when faced with new challenges or unexpected directions during production.


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Portfolio showcasing completed projects created in Ardour or LMMS.
  2. Experience producing a variety of genres or audio types (music, podcasts, sound design).
  3. Background in professional audio decision-making or audio education/training.
