Job Summary:
Join our customer's team as an Amharic Language Expert, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality language content and supporting AI development. This unique position will leverage your skills in translation, dubbing, and linguistic analysis to train and enhance innovative language technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate, localize, and adapt content between Amharic and English to maintain accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Edit and proofread written materials for linguistic clarity, grammatical correctness, and style consistency.
- Perform dubbing and voice-over tasks for multimedia and AI training datasets.
- Engineer and process audio recordings, ensuring superior sound quality and format compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to train AI models for natural language processing and understanding in Amharic.
- Apply linguistic expertise to annotate, evaluate, and refine language data for machine learning.
- Provide subject-matter insights to optimize workflows and address linguistic challenges.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Native or near-native proficiency in Amharic with excellent command of English.
- Demonstrated experience in translating, editing, and localizing written and spoken content.
- Solid background in linguistics and language analysis.
- Proficiency with audio engineering tools for recording, editing, and processing voice content.
- Strong written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple projects independently in a remote environment.
- Experience in dubbing and voice-over work, especially for AI or multimedia applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as an AI trainer or on language technology projects.
- Familiarity with current trends in natural language processing and machine learning.
- Knowledge of additional Ethiopian languages is a plus.
