Job Description

Job Title: Norwegian Language Expert


Job Type: Contractor


Location: Remote


Job Summary: In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Record high-quality audio samples in Norwegian, ensuring clear pronunciation and minimal background noise.
  2. Transcribe and annotate audio data with meticulous attention to detail, following established guidelines.
  3. Evaluate the quality of speech data, providing constructive feedback and ensuring accuracy in labeling.
  4. Collaborate closely with the customer’s team to support sophisticated AI workflow processes.
  5. Utilize your phonetic knowledge to ensure correct pronunciation and intonation in all recordings.
  6. Maintain organized records of audio files, annotations, and evaluation results.
  7. Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats, contributing insights to improve processes.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Native or near-native proficiency in Norwegian, with strong command of pronunciation and linguistic nuances.
  2. Experience in audio recording, such as voice acting, podcasting, music production, or similar roles is highly valued.
  3. Familiarity with speech data collection and AI workflows is preferred, but not required.
  4. Keen attention to detail for accurate transcription and annotation tasks.
  5. Awareness of phonetics and standard Norwegian pronunciation.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in providing feedback and collaborating remotely.
  7. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Background in audio engineering or previous involvement in speech-related projects.
  2. Prior experience working with language data or AI systems.
  3. Academic background in linguistics, phonetics, or a related field.
