Job Summary

Industrial Gearbox Mechanics play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of high-quality industrial equipment. You will be responsible for the expert inspection, maintenance, and overhaul of industrial gearboxes, while upholding the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE). This hands-on position is based primarily in our advanced workshop, with opportunities for site work to support our valued clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, dismantle, clean, and evaluate industrial gearboxes for wear, damage, or malfunction.
  • Repair or replace gears, bearings, seals, shafts, and associated components to restore optimal functionality.
  • Assemble and align gearboxes in accordance with manufacturer specifications and precision standards.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools, such as micrometers and dial indicators, to ensure dimensional accuracy and proper alignment.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and lubrication as per established schedules to maximize equipment lifespan.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults with effective, sustainable solutions.
  • Maintain detailed job records, including repair history, parts used, and time logs, while supporting on-site gearbox installation and commissioning when needed.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and actively contribute to ongoing QHSE improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in industrial gearbox repair and maintenance.
  • Expertise in gears, bearings, seals, and lubrication systems, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Skilled in the use of precision measurement and alignment tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling heavy components.
  • Demonstrated commitment to QHSE and continuous improvement in workshop and site environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with leading gearbox brands such as Bonfiglioli, Brevini, Flender, Hyosung, ZF, Wikov, or similar.
  • Additional skills in welding, machining, or fabrication.
  • Previous involvement in preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
