Job Summary:
Join our team as a Senior Agronomist and play a pivotal role in shaping Complete Farmer’s agronomy programs across all operating regions. This is an opportunity to provide advanced technical leadership, drive innovation, and elevate sustainable agriculture practices while working asynchronously with a global team of experts. Reporting directly to the COO, you’ll set standards and steer large-scale trials that will define the future of farming for our network.
Key Responsibilities:
▪ Design and oversee agronomic strategies, best practices, and production protocols across all company-supported commodities
▪ Lead large-scale field trials and applied research to enhance crop performance, soil health, and sustainability
▪ Provide high-level technical support to regional and field agronomists, tackling complex crop and soil challenges
▪ Collaborate with Innovation, Field Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure research translates into actionable field solutions
▪ Advise on input selection, crop protection, irrigation, and climate-smart agriculture practices
▪ Forge and maintain partnerships with research institutes, universities, and agricultural R&D organizations to access the latest knowledge
▪ Establish KPIs and reporting standards, ensuring compliance with global certifications and sustainability standards
Required Skills and Qualifications:
▪ 8+ years of professional experience in agronomy, crop science, or related fields, including multi-region program leadership
▪ Proven expertise in developing and implementing large-scale agronomic programs and solving complex challenges
▪ Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with outstanding written communication skills suited to an asynchronous work culture
▪ Demonstrated collaborations or partnerships with national/international research institutions (e.g., CSIR, IITA, CIMMYT, ICRISAT)
▪ Ability to mentor diverse teams and build technical capacity
▪ Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or related discipline
▪ Willingness to travel frequently to field sites and regional operations
Preferred Qualifications:
▪ PhD in a relevant field
▪ Experience representing organizations in industry forums, government consultations, and technical working groups
▪ Prior success achieving global certifications (e.g., Global GAP, Organic) and working across international markets
