Job Title: Journal Entry Specialist

Job Summary:

Join our customer’s team as a Journal Entry Specialist and play a crucial role in maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of our accounting processes. In this part-time, remote position, you will leverage your expertise in journal entries and US GAAP to ensure precise financial reporting and support ongoing business operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare, review, and post journal entries in compliance with US GAAP standards.
  2. Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
  3. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  4. Maintain organized documentation of all journal entries and supporting information.
  5. Assist with periodic internal and external audit requests by providing accurate financial data.
  6. Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline journal entry procedures.
  7. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience preparing and posting journal entries.
  2. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
  3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, vital for remote collaboration.
  4. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and organizational skills.
  5. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  6. Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
  7. Proactive approach to identifying errors and driving process improvement.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Experience supporting a distributed or remote team environment.
  3. Familiarity with ERP systems or advanced accounting platforms.
