Job Summary:

Join our vibrant and dedicated team as a Human Resources Manager at our New Bedford facility. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a broad range of HR activities, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive work environment for our 65 employees, most of whom are represented by the Steelworkers Union. Your expertise in union negotiations and labor relations will be instrumental in maintaining harmonious workplace dynamics.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Recruit, interview, and make hiring decisions in collaboration with the operational team.
  • Address and resolve grievances, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and payroll administration.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and manage HR reports and metrics.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive HR management experience, including labor relations in a manufacturing setting.
  • BA/BS or Associate’s Degree in Human Resources with leadership experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR best practices across diverse employee groups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in PC skills and technology utilization within HR.
  • Confidentiality and problem-solving expertise.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in union negotiations and labor relations.
  • Background in manufacturing environments.
