Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as a Document Annotation Specialist and play a crucial role in advancing high-quality data pipelines for AI-powered document processing. You will meticulously review, validate, and refine data extracted from complex PDFs, ensuring complete accuracy in every field. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your precision and problem-solving skills in a fast-evolving technology landscape.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Receive and analyze source PDF documents alongside AI-generated JSON extractions and predefined schemas.
  2. Perform field-by-field comparisons between original documents and extracted data, correcting every discrepancy and error.
  3. Validate complex data, including mathematical accuracy of line-item totals, summaries, and cross-references.
  4. Ensure data integrity by reviewing, annotating, and verifying hundreds of fields per document with unwavering attention to detail.
  5. Document and escalate ambiguous cases, collaborating with team members to drive process improvements.
  6. Contribute to the continuous enhancement of AI extraction quality by rigorously identifying edge cases and annotation challenges.
  7. Communicate findings and feedback clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated experience in data annotation, document review, QA, or proofreading with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  2. Strong English reading comprehension, capable of navigating dense, multi-page PDFs, tables, and financial data.
  3. Working knowledge of JSON structure and the ability to verify value placements within nested schemas.
  4. Advanced attention to detail—proven ability to check hundreds of fields per document without errors.
  5. Comfortable with basic math operations and validations.
  6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  7. Self-motivated, disciplined, and adept at remote collaboration.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Background in insurance, finance, legal, or government document processing.
  2. Professional proficiency in additional languages.
  3. Experience supporting AI/ML annotation projects or working with document extraction tools.
