Job Description
Job Title: Hardware Operations Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Remote
The Role
Join our team as a Hardware Operations Manager, where you'll lead the end-to-end device lifecycle and hardware management across a dynamic, technology-driven organization. With responsibilities spanning both core team and robotics deployments, you'll play a pivotal role in building a future-ready hardware ecosystem that supports enterprise AI and innovative robotics initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own and optimize the full device lifecycle, including laptop procurement, provisioning, shipping, refreshing, and secure deprovisioning for all business units.
- Manage inventory and hardware operations—tracking, auditing, forecasting, and sourcing for both internal teams and large-scale robotics deployments.
- Oversee and enhance MDM/device management platforms such as Jamf, ensuring seamless app installs and device compliance.
- Collaborate closely with Talent Operations for device onboarding and offboarding, and with Finance to manage hardware budgets, inventory costs, and margin impacts.
- Support and maintain SF office network infrastructure and AV systems, guaranteeing a robust and reliable technical environment.
- Contribute strategically to the department’s vision—scaling from third-party hardware sourcing to designing proprietary hardware for critical application areas.
- Develop and refine hardware processes, documentation, and communication for transparency and operational excellence across all data verticals.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in device lifecycle management, IT operations, and hardware inventory management.
- Expertise with MDM/device management platforms (e.g., Jamf), including app deployment and compliance enforcement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills—able to convey complex technical information to diverse stakeholders with clarity.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional projects with Talent Operations, Finance, and technical teams.
- Hands-on experience supporting hardware for robotics or similar technical deployments is a plus.
- Track record of process improvement, resource optimization, and hardware cost control.
- Familiarity with office network and AV setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Preferred
- Experience designing or building in-house hardware systems for enterprise or robotics applications.
- Background supporting hardware operations in fast-scaling, multi-vertical technology environments.
- Project management certification or formal training in operations management.
