Job Summary

Join our customer’s team as an Insurance Capital & Underwriting Evaluation Expert, leveraging your insurance and actuarial expertise to enhance underwriting rigor, benchmark capital models, and refine risk evaluation standards. This flexible, remote role is perfect for seasoned professionals passionate about impactful written and verbal communication and committed to setting industry-leading standards in underwriting and capital assessment.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Review underwriting packages, pricing models, reserving analyses, and actuarial memos for technical accuracy and commercial soundness
  2. Assess capital modeling frameworks, loss projections, reinsurance structures, and solvency-driven constraints to ensure robust risk management
  3. Evaluate underwriting assumptions, scenario models, and exposure analyses in line with the customer’s risk appetite
  4. Deliver structured, high-quality written feedback on methodologies, data integrity, and risk-adjusted decision making
  5. Participate in evaluation panels to benchmark underwriting quality and analytical rigor
  6. Contribute expertise across P&C, Life, Specialty, and Reinsurance lines to elevate best practices
  7. Support the differentiation and development of underwriting proficiency based on risk assessment maturity


Required Skills and Qualifications

  1. 5+ years’ experience in insurance underwriting, actuarial science, reinsurance, risk modeling, or capital management
  2. Proficiency with loss triangles, pricing models, reserves, RBC/Solvency metrics, and capital adequacy frameworks
  3. Expertise in evaluating underwriting memos, risk transfer structures, and portfolio risk aggregation
  4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on technical feedback and evaluation
  5. Deep understanding of regulatory and solvency frameworks (e.g., Solvency II, RBC, IFRS 17)
  6. Ability to synthesize and communicate domain knowledge across diverse insurance lines


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in carrier or reinsurer underwriting, actuarial pricing, risk analysis, or specialty lines
  2. Relevant credentials such as ACAS/FCAS, ASA/FSA, CFA, FRM, or CERA
  3. Exposure to reinsurance structuring, treaty analysis, or catastrophe modeling
