Job Title: Lawyer - Legal & Risk Management (AI Tutor)

Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as a Lawyer - Legal & Risk Management (AI Tutor) and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of artificial intelligence for complex commercial insurance claims analysis. You will leverage your deep legal and risk expertise to annotate, review, and interpret insurance policies and claims, contributing to a cutting-edge production-ready RL environment that powers systematic model improvement in high-value, reasoning-intensive domains.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review, annotate, and interpret commercial property Business Interruption insurance policies and claims, including fire, flood, equipment breakdown, and supply chain scenarios.
  2. Create and analyze incident specifications using authentic policy language and detailed financial data.
  3. Draft clear and comprehensive policy interpretation documents and incident analyses to support AI model training.
  4. Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, engineers, and fellow legal experts to ensure accuracy and industry relevance in annotation and task creation.
  5. Develop and refine rubrics for systematic evaluation and grading of AI performance on complex claims analysis tasks.
  6. Contribute to the development and validation of reward models by leveraging your claims and policy expertise.
  7. Communicate findings, rationale, and recommendations clearly through both verbal and written channels.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience with commercial property insurance claims, particularly business interruption, fire, flood, equipment breakdown, or supply chain losses.
  2. Strong expertise in insurance policy analysis and interpretation.
  3. Demonstrated ability to write and interpret incident specifications using policy language and financial data.
  4. Proficiency in policy interpretation documentation and analysis of claims and policies using financial metrics.
  5. Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  6. Experience in legal risk management and coverage analysis.
  7. Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative, and fast-paced team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with prompt engineering and chain-of-thought prompting for AI tasks.
  2. High typing speed (WPM) and experience developing or using evaluation rubrics in teaching or grading contexts.
  3. Background as a lawyer, coverage attorney, or risk management law student with exposure to complex insurance claims.
