Job Summary:

Join our team as a Senior Accountant-Real estate and play a pivotal role in managing the financial backbone of our expanding real estate portfolio. You’ll drive accounting operations from acquisition to asset management, ensuring our financial processes are sophisticated, accurate, and ready to scale. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day property accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation schedules, and compliance with GAAP and real estate accounting standards.
  • Oversee accounts payable through Ramp and manage property financials within QuickBooks and AppFolio.
  • Prepare, review, and close monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to ensure audit-ready records.
  • Partner with external consultants to support the potential migration to NetSuite, ensuring a seamless system transition.
  • Generate detailed, insightful financial reports for leadership, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with acquisitions, asset management, and investor relations teams, translating complex accounting requirements into actionable insights.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
  • Big 4 or equivalent experience strongly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of real estate accounting conventions including CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and cost capitalization.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks, AppFolio, Ramp, and familiar with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms.
  • Big Four or public accounting experience, with a sharp eye for technical accuracy and process improvement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying nuanced financial concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Self-starter with a problem-solving mindset, comfortable working autonomously and remotely.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting system migrations or ERP implementations, particularly to NetSuite.
  • Advanced knowledge of real estate-specific accounting, including bonus and straight-line depreciation.
  • Exposure to investor reporting and portfolio-level financial analysis.
